RESOLUTIONS CREATED AT NYPA
Windsor's Tunnel Bus
In early 2024, NYPA—then operating as the Windsor City Student Council—took bold action on a long-ignored issue: the shutdown of the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel Bus. Our resolution didn’t just call for its return—it introduced a forward-thinking solution: privatization.
The Mayor’s official response acknowledged our work, confirming that while public service would not resume, a private operator could bring the route back.

Increasing Efficiency in Healthcare (Windsor-Essex)
In April 2025, we at the Windsor City Student Council drafted and submitted a healthcare resolution to Mayor Drew Dilkens, advocating for improved access and equity in local health services. The Mayor’s Office formally acknowledged our resolution and shared it with the City’s Human and Health Services Commissioner for consideration. This effort reflects our commitment to youth-led civic engagement and meaningful policy advocacy in Windsor-Essex.
